It's been a minute since the last craft, so we'll take it a little easy this time around. This month's project is a supply caddy for all your crafting/art supplies. It's REALLY easy to make and it's environmentally sound, since it reuses materials (not to mention when it gets all old and falls apart you can recycle it!). Not to mention, if you all haven't fallen off of the "be more organized" New Year's resolution or even if you have, you can use this to better organize your supplies. (AWESOME!!)

The Only Column That Matters About the Only Band That Matters |

As a teenager, I had at one time imagined filming a version of one of my favorite books On The Road by Jack Kerouac. And I always imagined filling the role of the wild, mystic protagonist Dean Moriarty with Joe Strummer. I could see him giving the performance of his life embracing the hobo lifestyle and like all heroes, struggle with his shortcomings. Strummer himself remains an enigma; in his own times he was able to drop his squatter-hippie ideology (and his nickname "Woody") to become the leader of a lost generation, counter-culture movement. Today, you cannot mention the words "punk rock" without referencing the Clash or Joe Strummer. The Clash themselves were a band that deviated from the punk rock blueprint in a few short years to become a genre-twisted mash of rock, soul, reggae, and even disco.

Cat approved! This month's craft is quick, super easy to make, and perfect for the holidays. We're making a classy ska photo frame out of mosaic tiles. And by classy, we're talking not full on checkers that scream 1993. By the way, I didn't publish my last article properly, so you might have missed it. In case you did, check it out here. I teach you how to make a wallet from flyers!
Materials: - 3/4" square ceramic tiles (two different colors)
- glue
- unfinished photo frames
- black acrylic paint
- paint brush
- the best photos from this year

Some may say comparing record collecting to a heroin addict's struggle to find the ultimate high may be farfetched. But as a fellow vinyl junkie, I have spent many nights in a cold sweat from my obsession. I have seen first hand the truth behind what vinyl addiction can do to a young man/woman in his/her prime. All the best minds of our generation have all fell victim to a vinyl-related incident. I have seen up-and-coming DJs playing the hottest tunes and then a week later I see the DJ on the street begging for tunes. His clothes sold for the latest (Japanese label) Drum and Bass Records' Prince Buster reissue. A DJ with a craving so strong they haven't eaten for weeks. The DJ's stomach expanding from extreme hunger and the body full of 45s train track marks. I have decided to dedicate all the proceeds from this column to a charity that helps recovering vinyl junkies. This column will not only be revealing my own audiophile tendencies, but also list some vinyl hotspots in the area.

What to do with those flyers? Part 3 - Flyer Wallet
Let's make a wallet out of some of our favorite flyers! This project is a little more advanced (say 3 on a scale of 1-5) because there is more measuring involved and there's some coordination needed with the tape. It should take about an hour give or take, depending on how coordinated you are with taping things. We're using the tape as a laminate for the paper to make your wallet last long and stand up to water. Materials: 1. Clear packing tape 2. X-acto knife or scissors 3. Ruler 4. Flyers - the small ones work better for this project 5. Plain paper (one sheet)
